John Van Horn's
"Nature W Wax"
On Exhibit Here
Busy M a bee in his 4-H Club
work, young John Von Horn has
found time to set up a display here
to show bow bees keep busy.
Wax is one of their businesses
and "Nature in Wax" tells the
story in the exhibit at Murphy Li
brary.
John says the uses of wax are
mostly for bees- They use it for
the comb, for glue, green cells and
many other things. The exhibit
only covers a small part of the
many uses for wax, young Van
Horn said.
John started his bee keeping pro
ject when he joined the 4-H Club.
His father gave him three hives
and its responsibility to care for
them. ,
His interest in bees and wax
grew when he became acquainted
with former Assistant County
J ' Agent James L. Adams "because
\ he was willing to help me with my
project."
* John said he and Mr. Adams
spent about two weeks out of every
month working on his hives and
those of other people. Last year
during District 4-H Demonstration
Day, John gave a talk on how to
feed bees.

Better Garden?
That's right! With an electric water system, you can
raise production at least 50 percent. Watering your
garden during dry spells may make the difference
between a good crop of high-quality vegetables and
little or no crop of low-quality produce. (Even a week
without some water cuts your production.)
And with our low electric rates, you can operate
your electric water system for about a penny a day.
Once it's properly installed, it needs little or no atten
