quired. "The number of growers ;
selling in Georgia has been in
cieasing for several years," Ben- |
nett said, "as the price differential j
between tied and untied tobacco i
continues to decrease."
Last year, tobacco growers in '
the five flue-cured states received 1
$540 million for their entire crop.
This year, 1958, with a better grow- i
ing season and a larger crop, pros
pects are that they will receive
$625 million or $85 million more
than last year.
