For the first time the North Georgia Conference permitted a campaign for funds to be conduct ed in the Methodist churches of the Conference. This campaign was organized and directed by loyal friends and alumni of the college. Between fifty and seventy-five thousand dollars were realized through this effort. It was under stood that the money from tms campaign would be used first to clear all indebtedness of the college- As a result the college was again out of the red. After this great struggle more and more interest in the college and its program grew from year to year. Under Mr. Appelby's leader ship much money has been given for continued imprpovements in buildings, faculty salaries and cur riculum expansion. Among these improvements are new dormitories, gymnasium, stu dent center, expansion of the li brary, and the building and oper ating of the Young Harris Clinic.
