The election law (or the town of Andrews has been changed. Following is the new law. The new election law for And rews provides that "Any person desiring to become a candidate for nomination in the primary for of fice of mayor or member of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Andrews shall, not latec than the first Tuesday in April of each election year file with the Town Clerk a statement of his or her in tentions and pay a filing fee of $5.00. The primary election of each political party participapting shall be conducted by the governing body of the Town on the second Tuesday in April of each election year. Should no candidate of a political party participating in the primary receive a majority of the votes cast, a second primary shall be conducted on the third Tuesday in April. The general municipal elec tion in said Town should be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in May. as is now provid ed by law." The registration book will br open at the Town Hall on the Satur day preceding the primary or on Saturday preceding the first Tues day in April. FARM QUESTIONS QUESTION: I have recently purchased seme Georgia Red Sweet potatoes for bedding. What should 1 do with them? ANSWER: Unless you are certain ' that they are certified seed stock from the northern part of Georgia, you should notify your county agent. The sweet potatoes may be contam inated with a newly-discovered and highly destructive virus. QUESTION: What is considered a break-even price for producing hatching eggs? ANSWER: C. F. Parrish, in charge of poultry extension at N. C. State College, says that it costs about 55 cents a dozen to produce hatching eggs under very ideal conditions. And in many instances, where feed is $5 or more per hundred, the cost is 60 cents. QUESTION: Are there as many hogs killed on North Carolina farms as there were 10 years ago? ANSWER: No. Economists estimate that the number of hogs slaughtered on farms in the state is down by 50 per cent.
