On September 2 the Pem broke Jaycettes, meeting with E. Central Region Director Mary Burns of Aberdeen, became officially affiliated with the State organization. The North Carolina Jaycettes. Although the Pembroke Club has been organized for seven years, this is the first official action toward state affiliation. Ms. Burns provided an infor mative program on Jaycette Orientation. Program Develop ment and Jaycette Projects and Activities. Thirteen members were in attendance at the September^ meeting and included Ms. Frances D. Chavis, President; Ms. Theresa Locklear, Mrs. Joyce Cummings, Ms. Doris Cummings, Ms. Sandra Oxen- dine, Ms. Andrena Scott, Ms. Ann Crain, Ms. Joy Locklear, Ms. Elizabeth Brooks, Ms. Wanda Harris, Ms. Norma Oxendine, Ms. Rosa Ann Sampson, andMs.Telen Lock lear. Ms. Joyce Cummings served as hostess for the September meeting. The RobeMB Coonty Urarcb and Community Center held Opra House on Sunday, Oct. 3, 1976 frup 3830- 5:30 p.m. Approximately 200 persons attended this event Plctnred are persons enjoying refresh ments following a tour of the bniiding and an explanation of various programs by different staff members. Another important event in ihe life of the Center will take niace on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. at the Jaycee Fair grounds in Lumberton. The Annnal Benefit Dinner Cele bration. Roicland 13 Magnolia 0 ROWLAND — Magnolia dropped its fiflh_con^utive game Monday night bowing to Rowland, 13-0 in a Cape Fear 1-A Conference foot ball contest. The game had been rescheduled from last Fri day night when it was postponed because of a lighting problem. Rowland, now 2-3 in the league, is 2-5 overall. Mag nolia is winless in four conference starts. LITTLEFIELD - Pros pect’s Jeff Cummings scored three touchdowns including a tie-breaker to lead Pros pect to a 20-14 win over Lit tlefield in a non cwiference high school football game Friday night. Cummings scored on runs of 10. 50 and on a two yard plunge in the overtime peri od to cap the win. . Littlefield scored its touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters. Prospect is now 3-3 overall while Littlefield dips to 2-4 overall. The reception was hosted by their children: Mrs. David (Patrisse) Locklear of Route 3; Miss Freida Locklear and Miss Vanessa Locklear, both of Chapel Hill; and Cecil Jamie Locklear and Miss Jodie Lock lear of the home. The gifts were received and displayed by Mrs. Vivian Locklear, assisted by Miss Cheryl Blanks. Special music was rendered by a nephew of the couple. Scott Blanks, who was accom panied by Mrs. Patrisse Lock lear at the piano. Guests were greeted by Mrs. Patrisse Locklear and M#6 Freida Locklear. He is the son of Mrs. Flarie Locklear and the late Loy Locklear. Mrs. (Josephine Locklear is the daughter of the Mrs. Mary B. Locklear, and the late Willie Foster Locklear.
