PAULS PIGGLY WIGGLY Rttucational Views By Dr. Datron Brooks EDUCATION IS POLITICAL Education began in this country with emphasis on professionalism- ad ministra- tive leadership, staff improve ment, curriculum development and vigorous supervisory stra ta. Now, more attention is focused on education as a political entity. Beginning in 1960fciff (HP National Educational Associa- tion-was pressured by the local classroom teacher for more decision making authority. By 1976, the National Association has endorsed presidential candidates and contributes heavily to senators and repre sentatives for school benefits. The NEA has changed in emphasis from professional ism to more political enfluence for 1) more Federal Funds for public education, 2) public employee collective bargain-, ing rights, 3) cabinet level department of education, 4) mobile teacher retirement sy stem, and 5) National Health Insurance. Most of the teachers in Robeson County are members of the NEA and the survey that I’ve made, they feel secure with the posture of the NEA and its political movement. However. Robeson County Teachers are primarily inte rested in the benefits of a national organization and not much concerned about its governance, business manage ment, public relations, and decision making. Is the political front of the NEA good for Education? Yes, it provides economic, social and psychological security for teachers to belong to a Nation al organization that speaks for education. NEA is a voice for Education. Can such an organization help the children in Robeson County? Yes, students per ceptions of things as they are can enhance their understand ing of American ediir.niinn Professionally, the tea chers can develop intervention methods to deal with the SAT Score, bargain to become part of the decision making process and improve parental partici pation in the education of their children. CONCLUSION More and more education is influenced by what happens at the local, state and federal level in the development and implementation of Educational programs and Administrative operations. It is a democratic institution with all the empha sis on human development, and therefore political. It is controlled by people partici pating' and evaluating what happens to youngsters in the social process of providing the needed technical, physical and human resources for Robeson County Education is more than a business, art or science; it is a political system governed and administered by people who have the «diil- dren’s security at state. Well Insulated Well insulated houses have six inches of insulation in the ceiling, three inches in side walls and three inches imderthe floor./ According ro Scriprure Psalms 110:1: “The Lord said unto my Lord, sit thou at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool.” Who is the Lord? Christ asked the question in Matt hew. Some said he’s the Son of David. Then Christ said how doth David in the _spirit call him Lord, saying, “the Lord said unto my Lord, sit thou on my right hand til I make thine enemies thy footstool.” In John 19:7 the Jews said we have a law, and by our law he ought to die because he made himself the Son of God. This Jesus hath God raised up for it was not possible that he should be held by it. Acts -Chapter 2- These are some of the verses which affirm the duty of Jesus. Stephen the first martyr said in Acts 7:56 "Behold, I see the heavens open and the son of man standing on the right hand of God.” The Lord said until 1 make they enemies they foot stool. The Bible said vengence has been placed in the hand of the Lord, it is true that all unrepentant and unbelieving sinners must face the terrify ing punishment of God. For it is the honor of God which is at stake, the righteous of Qod which must be vindicated. We who love the Lord stand against lawlessness, injustice, male volence. and we that are Christians will be rewarded and the unrighteous will be punished. The Lord Jesus is at the right hand of our God and Jesus said that to him that over cometh will 1 grant to sit with me in my throne. Even as I overcome and am set down with my father in his throne Rev. 3:21. Some people have said they tried to be a Christian, but could not. Some even have sin in their life and say that they are Christians and would say it is not possible to to live a Christian life which Jesus has told us to live. In the 23rd Psalms. 3rd verse the Bible said, “He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in tne path of righteousness.” So when we are living in sin, don’t say Christ has led you to sin for He leadeth you in a path of righteousness for his name’s sake. And to those of you who are trying and seem to fail, remember and read the 109:31 Psalms for Christ our Lord shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul. And to you who sow discord and have no respect for those living a holy life, a clean life which is holy, the Lord counts you as his enemies and he hates people who are against the cross. You say the Lord does not hate man who is against God. Rom. 9:13 as it is written, “Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.” Esau sold out for a piece of bread and God hated him for it. Man fails to see the goodness of God. Man fails to see Jesus at the right hand because he can not perceive the power of God. Therefore, man thinks because of his ignorance he shall see God an his son. But the word said he that is unjust, let him be unjust. He that is filthy be filthy, and he that is righteous be righteous and he that is holy be holy be holy.
