Page 8, The Carolina Indian Voice Know Your Dible By Rev. D.h. Lowry The quotation: "Absent from the body-present with the Lord” does not occur at the Natural Death, We live in mortal bodies. Paul said this mortal must be on immortal ity. At the first resurrecton, we will be absent from the mortal body and be present with the Lord in an immortal body. The Bible says: ‘‘No one has ascended to heaven, but Christ.” When the Martyr Stephen was being stoned, he lookea up into heaven and saw Jesus by the throne- he did not see Abraham or any of the prophets- they were rest ing sweetly in the graves. When a Christian dies- as in Adam, all die- he dies all over. First Thes. 5:23 "I pray God your whole spirit, and soul and body be preserved blame less unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are preseved in the graves. When Christ died on the Cross, he died spirit, soul and body. Acts 2:13 says Christ’s soul was not left in hell. Hell here means the tomb or grave. Because Lucifer, the proud angel, sinned in heaven and came and caused sin in the Garden of Eden, God is going to create a new heaven and a new earth. Rev. 21-1 No sin will happen there. Christ is now in heaven- the war occured-Christ is building a new heaven cubical -1500 miles long-wide ano nigh, The new heaven will also be called the New Jerusalem and come down out of heaven and dwell .just above the New Earth. Our present earth has about 197 million square miles on its cubical or oblate spheroid surface. Accordingly, the new earth will be a basin with 4 corners, approximately 14,000 miles square- to 197 million square miles as old earth. See Revelations 7:1. Four corners- a bason. The key to reducing the rising crime rate is to make sure that a person who commits a crime gets caught and gets punished. Jim Hunt will seek tough new laws to limit the leeway a judge has in handing down a sentence and to require that criminals be brought to trial fast. Thursday, October 28, 1976 Congressman Chadk gets the job done! Charlie Rose started at the bottom of the Agriculture Committee four years ago. Now out of 27 Democrats on the Committee he is 12th in seniority. Charlie Rose is a member of the very important Tobacco Subcommittee and is next in line to become its Chairman. Charlie Rose serves on the Oilseeds and Rice Subcommittee, which is currently seeking legislation to stop the flow of palm oil imports into this country. Charlie Rose is Chairman of the Subcommittee on Family Farms and Rural D^elopment. As Chairman, he has held extensive oversight hearings into the Department of Agriculture and is focusing attention on its failure to properly implement the Rural Development Act of 1972. Charlie Rose successfully convinced Congresswoman Pat Schroeder of Colorado, Chairwoman of the Census Subcommittee, to block attempts by the Republican Administration to change the official definition of a “farm”. The change in definition would have eliminated 25% of all North Carolina farms and put many others in jeopardy by reducing our State’s participation in federal farm programs. Charlie Rose was a co-founder of the Congressional Rural Caucus, which now has over 100 members and works to promote services for Rural America. Charlie Rose says, “Congress has mandated the Department of Agriculture to implement programs to help improve the quality of life in Rural America. . .the Department has not responded. The Department is very- insensitive to the needs of Rural America. Their record is a trail of broken promises.” Jim Hunt. Paid for by the Jim Hunt Committee.
