Qiarles W. Oxendine, pastor of Preston Gospel Chapel. This exercise will be held in the high school Gymtoriam. On Thursday, June 9, at 6 p.m. in the gymtoriam, the Graduation Exercise will be held. The speakers for this exercise will be valedictorian, Cheryl Lynn Brewer, and salutatorian, Harry Lee McMillan. The title of Miss Brewer’s address will be, “The Curtain Drops,” and the title of McMillan’s address will be, “What’s Next?” HONORSTUDENTS Miss Brewer is the daughter of Mrs. Virginia Brewer and the late Willie Brewer of Mazton. Cheryl has held such offices as the Beta Club, secretary-treasurer; Math- Science Club, vice-president; and Historical Drama Club, vice-president. She has also won such awards as the English I, II, and HI Awards, Algebra I and II Awards, Geometry, Spanish II, Chemistry, and the Voice of Democracy Award for this district. Her plans are to attend Pembroke State University and obtain a B.S. Degree in Medical Technology. McMillan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Belton McMillan of Maxton. Harry is a member of the Beta Qub, presently ser ving as president, and the Historical Drama Club, Math Club and Spanish Club. He is also Editor of the yearbook. He was a member of the President’s Classroom of 1976 in Washington, D.C., after writing an essay on Rural Electrification. His plans are to attend Pembroke State University for two years and then transfer either to the University of North Carolina at Chapel or East Carolina University to seek a career in Physical Therapy. Students of Foirgrove acnool will present the Graduation Program on Thursday, June 9fh, of 8 p.m. FAIRMONT — Fairgrove High School will hold its 1977 graduation exercises on Thursday, June 9 at 8 p.m. in the school gymtorium, ac cording to an announcement by Robert Hunt, principal. The speakers wU] be the honor students, Donald Ray Sandoval, valedictorian, and Verdell Freeman, salutatorian. Donald Ray, the son of Mrs. Uvon H. Samdoval of Rt. 3, in the school gymtorium. Porriciporing will be (left to right) Donald Sondovol, Voledictorion; Co-Hlstorions Fairmont, has passed initial tests for entrance to the Navy. He plans to leave in August for training in electronics. He works part time, but finds time to read and to participate in athletics. For four years on the Fairgrove football team, he played linebacker and defensive end. He is also a member of the track team. Verdell is the .son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert H. Dr. Paxton, a Chocataw Indian from Oklahoma, is the newly designated Associate Deputy Commissioner for . Indian Eduction. U.S. Office of Education.
