In the Individual competition, the Braves’ Willis (Junior) Nance ctf Bladenboro dropped from sixth to eighth place in the final scoring. He had 77-79—156 for the two days. Team scores were: UNC- Charlotte 772, N.C. State 777, High Point 782, East Carolina 792, Pembroke State 804, Campbell 606, Eton 824, Greensboro 826 and Atlantic Christian 669. Tleing for regulation in dividual honors were UNC- Charlotte’s Dave Davis and High Point’s Bill Wall with ISO's each. Davis had rounds of 76-74, while Wall had 80-70. But Wall won a sudden death playoff. The first day leader, Keith Hiller of East Carolina, soared to a 79 Tuesday to finish with a 151, winding up in third place. LADY BRAVES WIN MATCH pfifiTBROKE - The Pembroke Lady Braves defeated the Guilford College Quakers and the UNC- Wilmington Seahav’*'i in a tri school volleyball match held at Pembroke State University last night. The Lady Braves swept past the Quakers 15-3, 15-9, and stopped the Seahawks 15-10, 4- 15, 15-11 to push their season record to 9-1. .Guilford College is now 5-8 while UNC- Wilmlngton stands at 7-5. Pembroke plays North Carolina Central and North Carolina A and T in Durham Oct. 13. PEMBROKE LOSES FIRST CHARLESTON — Baptist College ended Pembroke State’s unbeaten cross coun try string with a win in a three-team meet here Satur day. Baptist scored 30 points, Pembroke 42 and North Carolina Track Club 52. The Braves had been ranked 10th in the NAIA poll this past week and had won all four of their meets. Pembroke’s Jeff Moody also was beaten for the first time. Garry Henry of Pembroke finished first over the 5.3- mile course with a time of 25:42. Moody placing fourth at 26:09. The Braves’ next meet is Oct. 22 in the state event in Raleigh.
