Some people are so afraid
of finding out they have cata
racts, they don't go to have
their eyes checked by eye
care specialists who can help
them.
This can lead to needless
blindness. Over 6,300 persons
in the United States lose their
sight to cataracts every year,
yet this condition is curable
in most cases. Cataract ex
traction is one of the most
successful operations per
formed today.

GIBSON I
Candidate I
for Sheriff |
TOM GIDSON wants to give Robeson County Taxpayers the highest
level of Law Enforcement Protection at the Least Possible Cost. Savings
can be effected by the use of Good Management and Common
Sense.
TOM GIDSON believes that a County Jail should provide a safe and
sanitary building to house persons owaiting trial in the courts of
Robeson County. Most of the Inmates of the County Jail have not been
convicted by the Courts. It is important that the Jail should be
operated in such a manner as to provide Humane Conditions in a safe
and escape-proof building.
? ELECT TOM GIDSON AND INSURE THAT THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE WILL: I
Serve civil papers by mail instead of using trained law enforcement officers
whose times should be spent on more important matters.
Increase the use of civilians for administrative duties.
Aggressively seek grants to improve the quality of law enforcement.
Reinstitute chapel services in the County Jail.
Improve the cleanliness of the Jail.
Increase security measures.
Work w ith the courts to insure a speedy trial for all prisoners.
Work diligently with the county commissioners to provide funds for
construction of a new and modern jail for all persons awaiting trial.
Insure proper training for ALL jailers.
