Locklear daughter of Mr. &
Mrs Harry J. Locklear, made
her debut as a special guest at
a cookout at the home of Mr. &
Mrs. Hardy H. Bell. Also
present for the occasion was
Dr Paul Givens, now
chancellor at Pembroke State
University. Carnell Locklear,
Boss Strong" of "Strike at the
Wind", and Little Miss
Lumbee's parents.
During the cookout, April did
her winning rendition of 'Take
me out to the Ball Game." The
cookout was a huge success
by her appearance.

Last Wednesday Night we
had a good service. At the first
of the service Brother Tommy
Cox stood up and testified to
how that God had performed a
miracle for him and his family
last week. Brother Cox has
been out of work for four
months, but God supplied
their needs.
' The children sang their spe
cial songs then we had an old
fashion testifying meeting,
people had great testimonies.
Bro. Millard Maynor came to
visit us he also testified.
Visiting us on Sunday mor
ning were the Saddletree
Jaycee. The president Mr.
Jackie Jones introduced the:
group. Then Mr. Ronald Ham
monds presented the church a
certificate of appreciation, also
visiting were Mr. Paul Bell of
Detroit Mich.
The church welcomed our
people, who had been in the
hospital for awhile. Mrs. Odes
sa Hammonds, Mrs. Junita
Easter. Mr. Layton Hunt and
Mrs. Betty Carter.

(Buddy) Carter jr. has a baby
boy. Master Robert E. Carter
III this is their first child.
Mrs. Lucille Carter and Mr.
Johnson Jacobs are in the
hospital and they need your
prayers. Mr. Robert E. Carter
is sick at home. So please pray
for him.
