Parents of the bridegroom are Robert L. Chavis and Mrs. Lucy Darl Chavis of Pembroke. Presenting a program of wedding music were Mrs. Ronald Locklear of Monroe and Miss Judy Jacobs of Lumberton. The bride's uncle, Wayne Locklear, escorted her to the altar. She wore a gown of white chiffon accented with Venise lace and styled with a Victorian neckline accented with silk Venise lace and seed pearls and an English net in sert with bishop sleeves. Sanderon of Pembroke, niece of the bridegroom. She wore a long dress styled with a natural waistline, ruffle at the hem and a silk ribbon tied around the waist. Miss Elizabeth Clark of Laurinburg, niece of the bride, and Miss Alfreita Dial of Pem broke, niece of the bridegroom, were flower girls. Their matching street length dresses were styled with a empire waists. They each carried a basket of pink and white pompons. All the bridesmaids and flower girls wore baby's breath in their hair.
