The NAIA District 26 track championships and the Carolines Conference will both be held at Pembroke State. BASEBALL, TENNIS, GOLF ALL DOING WELL PSU's baseball team is 9-9 on the season, but the tennis teams still find the other conference rivals much tough er. The two tennis teams will participate in the conference tournament this weekend and then the baseball team will enter the Carolinas Conferen ce tournament next Tuesday in Greensboro. Leading the Braves in bat ting is still junior Mike Leo nard of Rocky Mount averag ing .372. He is followed by Marshall Little at .324. In pitching. HUCKSTERS DO WELL OVER EASTER The Pembroke State Uni> versity track team participated with eight teams over the weekend in the University of South Carolina Invitational and the Braves did well among the tough competition. "We are doing well at this point of the season," stated Pembroke State Coach Ed Crain. "We hope to be doing our best for the district and national competition." Saturday's results were: Joel Cofer took fourth in the high jump (6'8"). Julius Meekins took first in the long jump (24*3"). Joe Rucker took fifth in the long jump (23' *4"), and sixth in the quarter hurdles (S3.7). McMillan took seventh in the 100 meters, and Carl Powell took fifth in the high hurdles (14.7). Other Braves placed: Tony Reid took fifth in the quarter hurdles (53.5), David Lewis took fifth in the 5.000 (14: 48). Chales Swindell took third in the triple jump (49.10.5), (NEW SCHOOL RECORD): Dan Ryberg took first in the 10.000 (30:34.8) with Mickey Stoker taking third in the 10.000: Craig Williams was second in the 10.000; Rickey Stoker, fifth in the 10.000; Sam Council, sixth in the 400 dash; with the mile relay taking fifth.
