May 2. I960. The Theme for the program was ''Dance Through the Ages." The mistress of ceremonies for the program was Mrs. Mary Carroll. The principal. Mr. O.M. Graham welcomed the many parents and friends who attended the program. After the Minuet was per formed by the May Court* Mrs. Carta Maynor introduced the contestants for Mr. and Miss Southside. Mrs. Frances Bui lard presented each con testant with a beautiful long stem carnation. Mr. Graham crowned the new Miss South side. Melissa Ann Hunt, for 1980-81. Mr. Southside was also recognized as Joe Smith. Following the crowning, each class performed dances from the 1800's through the 1980's. Each class was dressed ac cording to the particular dance being performed. All of the dancing attire was very beau tiful and colorful. The gym was decorated very beautifully by some of our special teachers. The entire program was directed by Mrs. Lanette Locklear, P.E.Coor dinator for Robeson County Schools. The principal would like to convey a very special thanks to all of the students and teach ers for such a successful program. The entire staff thanks all of our parents for the money raised during the last several weeks.
