Due to illness, the superintendent wu unable to be in church Sunday. Bro. Jackie Wilkins, assistant superintendent, did a good job. The title of the lesson was "Tragedy pf Rejecting Christ.' The people tried to find some thing wrong with this man _ called Jesus. I Many accused him of different things but none were able to tell anything that would call for the penalty of death. Two false witnesses came and said they heard him say "I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days." They wanted Jesus to tell them if He be the Christ, the Son of God. Then Jesus told them. "Thou hast said. Nevertheless. 1 say unto you hereafter shall ye see the son of man sitting on the right hand of power and coming in the clouds of heaven." Then he was accused' of blasphemy. They needed no more witnesses. They found him guilty. Guilty of love in the first degree. He was spit upon and beaten. All this he went through just for you and me. What are you doing with this man today? You either accept him or reject him. By rejecting him you crucify him. By rejecting him you crucify him anew. What a great lesson. The small children put on a wonderful program. They sang many songs and answered many quesitons asked by their teacher. Mrs. Louise Chavis of what they had learned from their lesson. ? The youth class received the banner on Sunday. Those paying their birthday offerings were little Shannon Chavis and Miss Dale Ammons. Sunday was a special day for the members of EVer Green Church. One of our Sunday School teachers has accepted the cat) to the ministry. A close and dear friend of mine. Rio. Edmund Locklear, Jr. deliver ed his first message. He did a great job. He said at the beginning of his message it had taken him thirty years to get really prepared. You might say why so many years. One good answer is that he was getting self out of the way. His scripture. reading was taken from Hebrews 13:1-6. He used for a topic, "The Lord is My Helper." Pray much for him that God will use him to help the lost see the Lord is their helper. He will be speaking for us on Wednesday night. The ladies will be holding their regular auxiliary meeting Thursday night at 7 p.m. Sunday is pastoral day. Our pastor, the Rev. Joseph Lock lear, is scheduled to bring the message. Be praying we'll have a great time in the Lord. THOUGHT FOR TODAY The Lord is My Refuge If I ascend up in heaven, he is there. If 1 make my bed in hell, he's there. If I take wings I where ever I m?y fly, he's there. If I go to the deepest parts of the sea. he's there. Where eve? 1 go, he'll be Csnr. He's nay k--cper. All my Ip comes from him. He cares. That's why he's with me at all times. Dear reader, please read Psalms 199. You'll find he's every where. v *? Please pray for us at Ever Green. U.S.P.S.
