' f j Pembroke State ! University I BY GENE WARREN I ^ AMOUNT OF MOHEY OFFICIALLY IN F?OM DINNEli $14,MQ The second annual fund raising dinner at Pembroke State University was a success as both an enjoyable occasion and as a fund-raiser. Walter OneauMne, PSU director of development who was in charge of ticket sales, re ported that the last official count was $14,600 - but it was sure to top the $15,000 mark. More money was on the way from Charlotte. The proceeds from these funds will be used for: (1) student scholarships, (2) fa culty development, and (3) University advancement. * The program featuring Charlie Justice, former UNC All-American football player, and Chnrik HarvBe, dean of North Carolina sport sea iters, was an overwhelming suc cess. The films of Justice in his playing day, narrated by both men at the podium, added a special ingredient to the program. In our opinion, the program was better than last year. In fact, everything seemed to move better. And a tremendous crowd attended the Maynard Ferguson Jazz Band concert afterwards.
