The lesson we were studying from was Romans 12:6-21. The subject was the Ministries of the Holy Spirit. Paul once again is giving us another list of gifts. He spoke of the various gifts in terms of their need and purpose. Om Spirit But Many Gifts We are to recognize that we alone are not the church. Each of us is only one member among many. There is no place for stars in the Body of Christ. God wants individual members who are responsible to do that for which they are called. As members of the Church, we cannot fill all the offices of the Church. We are to fill only the office to which we have been assigned. God will not use us in manifesting all the gifts, but only those (whether one or more) for which we have been called. But what ever we are, whatever we do, or in whatever way we are used, we are to be constantly aware of the unity God requires in the ministries of the Church. V ?... 11 u..s :r ? i may uc 5man, uui 11 1 am a member of the Body of God's Son, and filled with His Spirit. I am important. The gift of M tola try is to be a leader in the church and to minister to its members and the world. The Gift of Teaching, which is the Spirit-anointed ability of certain persons in the Church to open God's Word to the people's understanding; to explain how the Word applies to life. The Gift of Exhortation is the Spirit-anointed ability of a person in the Church to give instructions to believers. The Gift of Giving involves more than the drop ping of a few pieces change in the offering plate. It is the giving of our all, with no thought of getting it back. The gift of Ruling: Our chwcbes all need a Ruler. God's House is to be kept in order. God is a business God, so we must be too. A Church is a Sacred Place. It's a dangerous thing to act unruly inside the House of God. The Gift of Mercy. Showing mercy to members of a Church is very important. All is not the same. When one needs help we're supposed to go to their rescue. Financially, having the Spirit of God within ut. we are able to help spiritualty. Paul told the Church at Corintn and the Roman Chur ch to hate that which is evil. To love one another and never prefer ourself before another. Dear reader, if you don't have this Spirit we've been sharing with you please get it. Tithe is coming to an end. You better get ready. Our pastor preached a very needful sermon. Reading rom from Matthew 25. 1-13. His main subject was to those whose spiritual oil is running out. He spoke to all and said. "Don't make the mistake of not having enough Spirit when Jesus calls. Oh how important it is to keep our lamps trimmed and burning. Jesus might come at any moment. Listen. We don't have to be sick. The Bible says men's hearts will fail them. Have you ever heard of so many heart attacks? Be ready today. The Lord just might call. Please pray for our sick and loved ones. My brother-in law, Rev. Charles Maynor is in the hospital. He's a won derful person and I believe he's one of God's little ones. Pray God's Will be done. Also, one of my Sunday School students. Brother James Earnest Oxendine. He's in the hospital. He's a devoted student and a special friend. When 1 say a. friend that's one who will help in time of need. He says that's his calling?helping others. All of us have a calling. Whateve'r our calling is. let's do that to the glory of God. Don't forget to come be with us May 6th. It's the Sunday School Rally. We're expecting a great time. Each church is to put on a program. Let's pray for Mr. Buyon Lowery and Betty. Both are in the hospital. And don't for get. so many more need our prayers. Thought for Today Someone cares for you. He knows when your heart aches.. Whenever things seem to g& wrong He knows. He knows when you're lonely, tired, discouraged and blue. 1 would like for you to know Him, because He does care for me . and you. That Someone is Jesus. Do you care for Him too? I do. Praise God! Yes I do. Please pray for us at Ever Green. THE /HAW HONORED Br INDIA AS THE FATHER OF ?THEIR NATION...
