ability to match the specialist with a
health problem. When asked where
an individual would best seek treat
ment and care of a back problem,
75% of them said, "At the Chiroprac
tor,"
"The significance of this
awareness," says Dr. Schultz, D.C.,
of the Schultz Cniropractic Center, is
two-fold: Most everyone knows that
the modern Doctor of Chiropractic is
the most natural person to see regar
ding a back problem; and that
backaches, sciatica, low back pains,
etc., are so prevalent in our society
today, even the youngsters know that
some Doctors devote their practice to
the treatment and care of them."
It is, of course, commonly known
that the modern Doctor of Chiroprac
tic, while being most knowledgeble in
the treatment and care of back pro
blems, is also a specialist for the many
problems that occur because of back
problems.
"I frankly can see the day soon
when even a student will recognize
that headaches, bursitis, nervous
disorders, and so many more ailments
are directly traceable to nerve in
terference along the spinal column,"
says Dr. Schultz.
He adds that the backbones of
Americans are naturally the sources
of many difficulties in tnemselves.
"Do you realize that 28,000,000 ~
citizens now. . .today. . .suner rrom
aching backs/' asks Dr. Schultz.
"And of that number, there are too
tragically many who have resigned
themselves to wearing back braces,
or just plain living with discomfort.
These people should seek competent
care and treatment for their pro
blem."
Dr. Schultz notes that one of the
principal reasons that an individual
with a back problem doesn't seek ef
fective care from modern Doctor of
Chiropractic is that he dismisses the
possibilities of lower vertebrae slip
ping from normal alignment.
"Maybe he didn't slip and fall,"
says Dr. Schultz.
"Maybe he doesn't do a lot of driv
ing hunched over the steering wheel.
"Maybe he doesn't do a lot of sit
ting slumped in a chair watching T.V.
"Maybe he doesn't work at a job
that requires him to operate from an
awkward position."
There are many 'maybe nots'.
"But life involves an equal number *
of 'maybes'," says Dr. Schultz,
"ways in which vertbrae might move
suddenly or gradually from normal
alignment and cause back trouble.
Then it's time for action," he adds.
