GRANT NOTICE OF SECOND
PUBLIC HEARING
In accordance with Section .1002
of Subchapter 191 ofthe North Caro
lina Community Development Block
Grant Program, notice is hereby
given that the Town of Pembroke
Board of Commissioners will con
duct a public hearing at 7. 00 P.M. on
Monday, November 9, 1992, at the
Town Hall at 203 W. Third Street,
Pembroke, North Carolina for the
purpose of soliciting public partici
pation in the proposed filing of an
Economic Development Grant Ap
plication under the Community De
velopment Block Grant Program.
The Town of Pembroke proposes
to apply for an Economic Develop
ment Grant to provide water and*
sewer improvements to meet the
needs of Fleetwood Homes, an ex
panding industry in Pembroke. The
improvements include the installa
tion ofanew300,000gallonelevated
water tank, 1,670 LF of 10" water
main, 3,696 LF of 6" water main, and
2,112 LF of 8" gravity sewer. The
grant application will request ap
proximately S820,000.00 in Com
munity Development Block Grant
Funds. An Environmental Review
Record of proposed activities has
been compiled and is being reviewed
by the State Clearinghouse.
The purpose of this hearing will
be to gather citizens' views and com
ments prior to submission ofthe ap
plication. Interested persons may
present their views orally, or in writ
ing at the public hearing or prior to
the hearing by communication with

28372. Written citizen comments
will be responded to in writing within
ten (10) calendar days of receipt of
comments by the applicant. All citi
zens of the Town of Pembroke are

POSED AMENDMENT OF THE
ZONING MAP OF THE TOWN
OF PEMBROKE
Notice is hereby given that the
Town Council of the Town of Pem
broke will hold a public hearing to
consider the rezoning of the below
described property from 1 to C3:
In Pembroke Township, Robeson
County, North Carolina, just north
east of and adjoining the Town of
Pembroke Corporate limits, on the
northwest side of and adjoining Union
Chapel Road (SR1563), bounded on
the southeast by said road, on the
southwest by Jamestown Enterprises,
on the northwest by the S.C.L. Rail
road and adjoining and on the north
east by Joe Locklear and Etha C.
Harris and being more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at an iron stake on the
northwest SR 1S63 right of way (30
feet from center) located South 59
degrees 30 minutes 20 seconds West
135 feet from where the northeast
line of the tract of which this is a part
intersects same, the southeast comer
of the Etha C. Harris 1.02 acre lot;
runs thence as her South line North
30 degrees 06 minutes 40 seconds
West 322.67 feet her southwest cor
ner, thence as her northwest line
North 60 degrees 30 minutes East
140.35 feet to her northwest corner
on the northeast line of the tract of
which this is a part; thence as said
line North 29 degrees 08 minutes
West 179 feet to an iron stake on the
southeast S.CX. Railroad right of
way (65 feet from center); thence as
said right of way South 40 degrees 22
minutes 45 seconds West 293 feet to
an iron stake on said right of way,
Jamestown Enterprises' northwest
corner, thence as its North line South
28 degrees 22 minutes East 404.50
feet to its northeast comer on the
northwest SR 1563 right of way (30
feet from center); thence as said right
of way North 59 degrees 30 minutes
20 seconds East 134.45 feet to the
beginning containing degrees 30
minutes 20 seconds East 134.45 feet
to the beginning containing 1.79
acres,
being a part of that Third Tract con
veyed to H.F. Harris by Deed 10-L,
at Page 212, Robeson County Regis
try. The time and place for the public
hearing concerning the action will
beheld at 7.00 P.M.. On the 2nd day
of November, 1992 at the Pembroke
Town Hall, at which time interested
parties will be given an opportunity
to be heard concerning this matter.
