Mo. where she wiH earn two Matter's degrees-one in Social Wotfc and one in Criminal Law. Chavis is the first Lumbee Indian to win the Buder, an American Indian Scholarship which includes two years in the Matter program there. Aller earning her master's Charlotte will work for two years in a predominately Indian community. She has requested that she be allowed to return to her native Robeson County to work with her own people, the Lumbee. The daughter ofMr and Mrs. James Monroe Cham of Pembroke.
