Third Annual Pembroke State University Gospel Festival Slated for April 23 Pembroke Suae Universtty officials are geanng up for the Third Annual PSUGospel Festival, dated for April 23 at 7 p.ra in the Givena Performing Ails Center Tickets fcr this event are ?S5. Headlining this year's gospel music program is the gospel sensation, "Wendy Bagwell sad the Sunliters of the Atlanta, Qa. area. Other groups Mated to perform at the festival are Carta A Redemption of Lumberton end The Beseaas of the Berea Baptist Church community and ministry, who will be doing the pre-show performance. Wendy Bagwell and the Sunliters have enjoyed worldwide acclaim and have been honored with several awards Including a Showmanship Award -(given to them by tfaeU.S. government for their gospel music performance on an extended tour ofEtnope); A Pioneer Award, and were awarded Album of the Year for their album "Here come ' the Rattlesnakes" in 1971. The group was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Southern Gospel Music "Associations! 1982.
