A Dalcrozc and Orff Workshop for elementary and middle school music classes will be held at Pem broke State University on Saturday, January 14. The workshops will fea ture clinicians Elizabeth Rose of Appalachian State University and Maribeth yoder-White of the Univer sity of North Carolina at Greensboro The workshops will run from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and will presemt activities on Dalcrozc Euthythmics and Orff Approach for elementary and middle general music and choral classrooms. The focus of the workshop is to ey tore ^materials ^and^actmti^^^ standings and skills. Activities will focus on movement to music, vocal development i n young children, hands , on movement activities for the class room, as well as a presentation of African ' songs, dances and instru ment playing. ' The clinics will be available to music icacncrs ana cnonu directors in the following counties: Robeson, Cumberland, Hoke, Moore, Bladen, Columbus, New Hanov er, Brunswick, Anson, Scotland, Montgomery, Lee, Harnett, Duplin, Pender, and Whiteville City schools. Elizabeth Rose is Dalcroze-certi fied through the Manhattan School of Music and is currently a Ph.D. candi date in Music Education at UNC Greensboro She has presented Dalcroze clinics and workshops for music teachers and choral directors throughout the Southeastern United States.
