run for District Court Judge
Assistant District Attorney
William Jeffrey Moore has
announced his candidacy for the
District Court Judge Seat in Judicial
District 16B
"1 am honored to have served
the people ofRobes^n County as an
Assistant District Attorney for
seven years." Moore said "To
offer myself as a judge to the people
of Robeson County requires
commitment, experience and
impartiality 1 will serve the people
of Robeson County fairly and
impartially as their District Court
Judge."
A native and life-long resident
of Robeson County. Moore is a
graduate of Prospect High School
He graduated cum laude from
Pembroke State University with a
degree in Psychology and
Philosophy He is a 1985 graduate
of the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hills School of Law He
has worked for the U S Department
of Agriculture, the Robeson County
Mental Health Center. Lumbee
River Legal Services, and currently
as an Assistant District Attorney
for Robeson County. Healso teaches
Business Law at Pembroke State
University and Robeson
Community College
Moore is a former board member
of Four County Community
Services, Inc and a current board
member of Lumbee River Legal
Services, Inc He has also been
involved in other community
organizations
As an Assistant District
Attorney, he has tried criminal,
traffic, juvenile and child support
casesand is familiar with all aspects
of the District Court System
Moore is married to Brenda
Johnson Moore who is employ ed at
the Pembroke Optometric Clinic.
They reside in the Prospect
community with their two children.
Breshen and Briana He is the son
of the late Henry Mootcand Dclons
Moore. He is the great grandson of
Reverend W.L. Moore who helped
establish what is now Pembroke
State University

Extravaganza
Planned
Parkton School is now in the
process of planning a December
extravaganza entitled "Let The
Cultures Speak" The program
will be a celebration of cultures in
ourschool community and abroad

music, and art on December 14

Pembroke youth attend
NBA Basetball Game
Pembroke-Eight youth from Pembroke participated in mm outing
to m Charlotte Hornets basketball game on November 22, 1995. Most
people take for granted seeing a live NBA basketball game. Hem/ever,
to Aese kids, this was a realfirst time experience.
One of the biggest thrills for the kids was getting autographs from
the I harlatte Hornets players. In addition, Ike travel to Charlotte was?
a big adventure for the kids. The primary objective of this outing was
to expose these youth to situations that they ordinarily may not
participate in due to social and economic barriers.
This event was co-sponsored by Pembroke State University,
Pembroke Housing Authority, andAe Pembroke Police Deoartment.
The sponsors extend a big thank you to Robeson Tire; College Sun
Do; Rood Runner Service Station; Bryant's Used Cars' and Cochlear,
