The three day event will be held at Castle McCulloch in Jamestown. NC. GNAA's Pow Wow will feature dancers representing tribes from throughout the United States and Canada. These dancers, ranging in age from 18 months to 75, will complete for prize money in seve ral different dance categories. This year, the Pow Wow has been extended one day - Friday. September 20 through Sunday. September 22. It will officially begin Friday, September 20 with the Opening Ceremony at 7:00 pm 21 at 10:00 am with various activities including inter-tribal dancing, specialty dancing featuring The Ximalli Aztec Dancers of Mexico, dance and drum competition, arts and crafts competition, honoring ceremonies and a gospel singing. Food vendors will be on hand throughout the weekend selling traditional Indian frybread and tacos in addition to many other types of food. The Pow Wow begins on Sunday. September 22 at 11:00 am with (jospel Singing from 12:00 Noon -1:00 pm. Dance and drum competition will continue throughout the day. Prize money will be awarded to the top dancers in each category during the closing ceremony.
