General Statement of Duties:
Performs a variety of responsible
trades and tasks in maintaining, repairing
and renovating buildings,
maintaining and operating equipment
and vehicles; and maintaining
grounds for a public housing agency
Duties and Responsibilities: An
employee in this class performs
skilled trade work in the maintenance,
repair, and renovation ofbuildings,
and maintenance and upkeep of
the grounds Mows grass, rakes
leaves, edges sidewalks; trims trees;
operates weed caters; removes liter
from grounds; cleans housing units;
vacuums, strips, waxes, and cleans
floors, cleans bathrooms and appliances.
Work involves performing in
a varies of trades. Work may be in
response to resident request, result
from inspections or be part of the
recycle process preparing housing
units for new residents. Work may
include caipentry, electrical, plumbing.
painting, sheet rock replacements,
or horticultural and grounds
maintenance tasks. The employee
works fairly independently, occasionally
with the assistance of a temporary
or part lime worker. Employees
arc exposed to hazards and conditions
associated with maintenance
work including inside and outside
environmental conditions, extremes
in temperatures, and exposure to
equipment, noise, gases, oils, and
vibrations. Work is performed under
the regular supervision of the Maintenance
Supervisor and is reviewed
through inspections in progress and
upon completion.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of the principles, practices
and techniques associated with
painting, plumbing, masonry, heating
and electrical trades. Knowledge
of common hand tools used in building
and equipment maintenance and
construction work. Knowledge of the
housing and building codes related
to trade repairs. General knowledge
of the hazards and related safety
practices associated with trade occupations.
Ability to understand, interpret,
?nd follow, org! and written

Ability to perform manual labor for
extended periods of time. Ability to
prepare technical reports. Ability to
establish and maintain effective
working relationships with co-workers,
supervisors, and the public and

combination of education and
experience. Possession of a valid
