Employees arc exposed to hazards and conditions associated with maintenance work including inside and outside environmental conditions, extremes in temperatures, and exposure to equipment, noise, gases, oils, and vibrations. Work is performed under the regular supt^vision of the Maintenance Supervisor and is reviewed through inspections in progress and upon completion Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques associated with painting, plumbing, masonry, heating and electrical trades. Knowledge of common hand tools used in building and equipment maintenance and construction work. Knowledge of the housing and building codes related to trade repairs. General knowledge of the hazards and related "safety practices associated with trade occupations. Ability to understand, interpret, and follow oral and written i nstructions and schematic draw ings. Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time. Ability to prepare technical reports. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workcrs, supervisors, and the public and to provide leadership to lower level employees. Graduation from high school and three years of trades work experience in areas assigned; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license/ Successfully pass a post-job-offer drug test.
