Chief Gunner's Male (SNA) Tommy Ray Locklear graduated from Magnolia High School in 1977. After spending eights ears in the civ ilian sector. Chief Lockiear enlisted in the United States Navy on December 9.1985. On February 4.1986 he reported to Recruit Training in Great Lakes. IL. After graduating bootcanip. Chief Locklear reported to Gunner's Mate "A" School in April 1986. W hile attending Navy Training Center in Great Lakes, he completed Basic Electricity and Electronics School. Gunner's Mate "A" School and MKI6 Antisubmarine Rocket Launching Sy stem. On March 1987. he reported to L'SS MEYERKORD(FF-1058)asaGunner's Mate in Weapons Anti-Submarine Division. While serv ing aboard L'SS MEYERKORD. he was promoted to Petty Officer Third Class, and a year later, to Petty Officer Second Class. During this tour, he served as the Ordnance Requisition Manager ofall Atlantic Navy and Coast Guard Commands east of the Mississippi River and the Mediterranean Commands.
