A great number of costly and hand some presents, which evidenced the pop ularity of the two, were received by Mr. and Mrs. (iant. Mrs. Gent lias, for several years, been connected with the State Normal col lege, and is the daughter of Mrs, James G. llanner, of Mount Airy. Mr Gant is a son of John R. Gant, of Burlington, a prominent manufacturer. Mr. and Mrs. Gant left on No. S for an extended northern trip, t'pon their return, about July 1, they will be at home at Burlington.
