HREENSBOlcO DAILY-NEWS, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 1921 10 ! I THANKSGIVI Services At Many Churches. Throngs Attend the Chapel . Hill Football Game. POLICE HAVE LIGHT DAY Thanksgiving day In Greensboro wi very quiet on. Many folk went to Chapel Hill for the football same, quite a number went hunting and the rent of the folk apparently spent the afternoon automobile riding. The theater ales did a ruining business during the afternoon and nigbt. Practically all of the churchea held services yesterday morning and large humbors attended. The day was very quiet. Even the police had a quiet day. Only a few drunk very few, Indeed were found on the streets by officer and the general behavior was extraordinarily good. Certainly there wai some difference In the celebration and In the way Armistice day waa celebrated. I There n an awful lot of Interest in the Carolina-Virginia football game for early In the evening the telephone In the Daily New office began to ring and practlcaly every call wa an Inquiry In regard to the outcome of the game. And the reiult wa appar ently satisfactory to most of the folk. Several "hurrah" were given when the remit wa learned and one person, who, judging from the voice, wa a ml of about It ummer, ald "O, Goody," In the sweetest way Imaginable when she learned that Carolina had de fesied the naughty boys from Virginia. The hunters, strange to relate, re ported no casualties. A few rabbit and several quail were killed In Guil ford county during the day, but late last night there was not a single re port of hunter being hit either by shot from his own gun or from a gun held by a fellow hunter The colleges auspended classes dur ing the day and many of the students Joined the throng at the ahow yes terday afternoon. All In all, the day wa well spent Many turkey were eaten at the noon meal and many famllle last night, fol lowing Immemorial custom, ate dress ing and other accessories left over from dinner. And after the supper families en masse attended another show. By 11 o'clock the streets were quiet with the exception of an occa sional automobile, dellyed In Ita ar rival from Chapel Hill by trafflo con dltlons. WHAT YOUR ! 1 MOTOR NEEDS" Vice President Cootldge, among 3ther wise and thoughtful things, has recently eald: "Look well thea to the hearthstonei therein all aope for Amerlra lies." The man who Is looking well to his hearthstone is very apt to take out a Maturing Life In surance Policy. It will carry out his purpose for hi home If he die, and It will also keep the fire on his hearth In his old age. And It la an unelflsh policy, for It doe not shift upon his chll. dren the provision for hi own old age.
