' Grover Lawrence, native of Fran cisco. Stokes county, died last night at a local hospital, following injuries received In an automobile accident near King about 10 o'clock Sunday feighl, and his brother, JWesley Law rence, is a patient at the hospital suffering with serious injuries. Gro ver Lawrence had spent the week end at hia home in Stokes, and his brother was driving him to Greens boro, where he holds a position with the Southern railway, to resume his duties this morning. As they rounded a aharp curve near a bridge between Rural Hall and King the Ford car in which they were riding turned turtle, falling dowa a steep embankment. Occu pants of a passing car discovered the wreck, and upon Investigation found Grover Lawrence in an un conscious condition, with the fender of the car resting on his chest. AVesley Ijiwrence was also In a seri ous condition, Drs. Helsabeck and Stone, of King, were summoned and they rushed the injured to the hos pital here. Grover Lawrence never regained consciousness, death fol lowing a abort while after reaching this city. It Is thought the brother will recover. Federal warrants were served on J. D. Waggoner and G. D. The reparations commission at I o'clock this evening, after three hours of discussion of the situation of Germany financially and econom ically, as viewed under the commis sion's recent visit to Berlin, found It self just aa far from agreement as when the session began. Tha Ameri can unofficially representatives, Ro land W. Boyden and Col. James A. Logan, Jr., participated in the ses sion. A deadlock in the commission again seems imminent, although it Is reliably reported that M. Barthou. the chairman, has been favorably Im pressed with the proposed solution contained In the report of the foreign experts who recently went to Berlin to study the situation, It Is stated that Premier Polncare Insists upon the Imposition upon Germany of rigid guarantees before everything else. It Is suggested In one quarter that the reparations problem might be left in suspense until the Interallied coh- ferenca at Brussels on the question of reparations and Interallied debts Is held, but those members of the com mission who can see no good in de laying the present conference are urging a decision by the commission. The German government to night forwarded a formal note to the reparations commission in Paris In forming the commission that tha reichsbank la prepared to advance the German government 500,000.000 gold marks toward a loan to stabilise the mark, provided an equal amount is forthcoming from sbroad and sub ject to the conditions proposed by the foreign financial experts who re cently visited Berlin sa essential for the auccess of tha stabilization project. Washington. Nov. 11. Pennsyl vania, with seven, will top all the states in big house committee heads in the new Congress, unless the seniority rule Is abrogated. . All told, there are standing com mittees, but some of them have lit tle to do with Important legislation. The seven important chairmanships Pennsylvania Is expected to have are: Banking, claims, foreign affairs. Judi ciary, naval, postofflce. and printing, a gain of two. Iowa will have four all big ones.
