Under and by virtue of a Private Act of the General Assembly of North Carolina, session of 1921, entitled an "Act to Authorize the Eliz abeth City Graded School District to Issue Bonds and Levy Special Tar, and pursuant to prop er application, made to the Board of Alder men of Elizabeth City,- by the Board of Trus tees of said Graded School, as provided in said Act, and pursuant to a motion unanimously carried before the said Board of Aldermen, in regular session assembled on this the 9th day of March, 1921. and a quorum being present and voting, an election is hereby called to- be held on Friday, April the 8th, 1921, when the duly qualified voters of the Elizabeth City Graded School District' will determine the issuance, by the Trustees of the said Elizabeth City Graded School District, of School Bonds, aggregating not to exceed Four Hundred Thousand ($400. 000.00) Dollars, the purpose of said bonds be ing as f ollowss : FIRST : "In paying off and discharging the present floating indebtedness of said Graded School District, including debts evidenced by notes, secured v or ' unsecured, and all . other in debtedness of said Graded School District, ex cept the original bonded indebtedness thereof." SECOND: "In purchasing lots or grounds for school purposes, and for constructing, repairing, equipping, heating and furnishing such graded school building, or buildings, within the said Graded School District, as the said Board of Trustees may . deem necessary and adequate to meet the present and future ' needs of the school population of said Graded School District." The boundaries of the said Elizabeth City Graded School District include all that terri tory within Elizabeth City -Township, together with that portion of Providence Township lying North Of Knobbs Creek and East of the main line track of the Norfolk and Southern Railroad, the qualified voters in- which territory shall vote to determine whether an annual and - special tax shall be levied for the purpose aforesaid and which annual and special tax shall be suffi cient to pay the interest on said bonds as it accrues and to create, a sinking fund for the payment of the principal of said bonds; said lunil m .a h... 4nt.M . nnf fet 6 per ceht per annum, payable semi-annually, and said bonds shall be in a sum. not to exceed Fpur Hundred Thousand ($400,000.00) Dol larss, and payable from live (5) to forty (40) years, after date of issue. At said election those who are in favor of the issue of said bonds shall ' vote a written, or printed, or partly written, or partly printed bal lot, bearing the words. The said election shall ' be held on Friday, April the 8th. 1921, aa aforesaid, and the polls will be open from sun-rise to sun-set on the day ' of the election. The several polling places, together with the judges of election and the registrars shall be as follow; FIRST WARD: polling place, H. G. God frey's store; registrar, H. G. Godfrey; Judges of election, L. Houts. SECOND WARD: polling place, the store on Harney Street immediately in the rear of Hen ry William's store; the registrar, Charles Wil liams; judges of election, E. M. Stevens and Mrs. Mary Trneblood. THIRD WARD: polling place. Whitehurst's store on Fearing Street; registrar, W. II. Hin ton; judges of election. Miss Marcie Albertson and John L. Wells. FOURTH WARD: polling place.
