Refolved, That it be recommen»'^c I
to luchof the inhabitants of this date
a>' are entitled to vote-for members of
the Houfe of Commons, at the annual
eleflion to be held in each county on
the third Friday^^nd Saturday in Au-
gudnext, tov.ite for five perfons in
each county, and one perfon in each
borough-town, having a right of repre-
fentation agreeable to the conditution
of this date, to fit as a date conven
tion, for the purpofc of deliberating
and determing on the propofed fcdcial
conditution for the future govern-
meiitof the United States, and on
luch amendments, if any, as lhall or
may be made to the faid conditution
by a convention of the dates, previ
ous to the meeting of the. faid conven
tion of this date ; which e!e6fion fliall
be condudted agreeable to the mode,
and conformable to the rules and re
gulations preferibed by law for con
ducing the elections of members of
the general afl'embly ; and any citi
zen within this date, being a freehold
er, fhall be eligible to a feat in the faid
convention, dieriffs and returning of
ficers excepted.
Refolved, That the Sheriffs of'the
counties in this date, do advertife and
notify the people of their counties and
borough towns, of the time, place and
purpofeof holding faid eleffion, at the
lamctime and in the fame manner as
the law requires them to advertife for
dembers ot the General Affembly.
Refolved, Th^t the perfons fo elefted
to fervein a S^te Convention, do af-
femble and meet together on the third
Monday in Ndvember next; at fuch
place as fliall ibe appointed for the
meeting of the next General Aflembly/
then aiid there to deliberate and deter
mine on the faid conditution, and on
the amendments, if any, and if approv
ed by them to confirm and ratify the
fame on behalf of this date, and make
report thereof to Congrefs and to the
General Affembly.
Refolved, That the members of the
convention be allowed twenty Ihiliirigs
per day for their attendance at, going
to, and returning from the place where
they fliall meet jr and that they be au-
thorifed to make fuch allowance to
their Clerks and. Door-keeper as they
(hall think reafonable-and the Trea-
furer is hereby diicfted to pry the
fame, on a certificate figned by the
Prefident of the convention ; provided
That fuch perfons as (hall be eledcd
members of the general affembly as
well as of the convention, lhall be al
lowed mileage for coming to the con
vention only and not for retujtiing.
