Cook onion ring's in half the
butter two or three minutes.

the sugar. Add a little water;
cover and'^'CotA --over low . heat
until onlont ute tender; remove
to hot platter with skimmer.
Wash, core and cut apples in
one half inch slices; do not peel.
Put apples in pan in which
onions were cocked. * Season
with aalt. Add remaining butter
and sugar. Coolr until, tender
and lightly bfowed, taming
once. Pat applet on platter and
arnish with bacon if desired.
Serve with meats, particularly
roaat pork, liver or sausagts.

pepper. Add meat stock and
stir until it bollsf then add

apple sauce. Salt to taste and
serve very hot.
