CITY — In a pamptUet entitled “A WORK ER’S WORLD,” prepared es pecially for its Eighth Vocation al Opportunity Campaign, the National Urban League calls the attention of Negroes to the la bor union relationship to their vocations. The pamphlet written by Miss Roiberta Randolph, Assis tant Educational Director of the Laundry Workers' Joint Board of Greater New York, discuss collective barggaining, labor un ions, the National Labor Rela tion Board, Workmen’s Compen sation, Unemployment Insurance and other social security mea sures of interest to workers. It is designed to give information tj high school and college stu dents on the problems that will confront them as they enter the world of work, *nd is an unusu ally valuable pamphlet which ought to be in the hands of iill young people sbout to engage in earning their livelihood. A second pahphlet, ‘A MESS AGE TO NEGfiO YOUTH” sug- gerts to young people the things they need to consider in plann ing their voeetional future. Skills and avocations are discussed, sources for jobs are pointed out, and certain provocation ques tions are raised. Written by Mrs. Wenonah Bond Logan, A Senior Employemnt Counselor in the New York State Employ ment Service, the leaflet is the Vocational guidance literature written especially for Negroes. Both of these pamphlets may be obtained from the National Uri(!ba|i League, 113>3 Broadrway, New York City, at forty cents a hundred, three hundred for one dollar. Already several thou sand copies have been purcbaa- ed by Negro schools and Urban League branches for distribution during the Eighth Vocational Opportunity Campaign. 'Also avail^Ie for distribution are two pamphlets in the Colo Line Series, “GUIDING NEGRO YOUTH TOWARD JOBS” and THEY CRASHED THE COLOR LINE,’ the former outlines pro grams of vocational guidance, and the latter gives sketches of Negroes who, have made out standing success in a number of vocations. C. — In the intercolle^ate contest which climaxed the full day of Dual State tournament play at the A & T College gymnasium, Sat urday, February 24, fhe A and T Aggies early erased the first quarter lead which Shaw Univer sity attempted to set up and went to regisfer a 58-26 victory.'' The Shaw team had the Aggies Buffaloed for the first ten minu- tfts but their lead wa^ shortlived S3 the entire A and T team went on a scoring sproe from that point until the end of the game.
