Born in this community, she received her education at Walltown Elementary School, Hillside High School and North Carolina College. She was employed at the North Carolina Mutual Life Insur ance Company, a member of Saint John’s Baptist Church and a faithful member of the Junior Choir. She was active in all religious, civic and so cial activities. Miss Stroud was secretary of the Bronze Mayor Council of Ithdfe community, secretary of the Count and Countess' Club, reporter and typist for the Walltown News and Views, contestant for “Miss Trade Week” for the Club Boulevard Beauty Nook. She is survived by her fath er, grandfather, three sisters, Mrs. lola Goss, Mrs. Annie Mae Prince, of this city; and Miss Ilene Stroud of Atlantic City; three brothers, Paul Stroud of Philadelphia, War ren and Mack Stroud of New Jersey.
