'Andrea Burnett entertained a group of her school friends Fri day evening at her home on Dunbar Street at a school clos ing party. The party was held in the garden which was lighted by varied colored Japanese lan terns and other lights. The group enjoyed card games and danced the latest steps to the music of a turntable. The eve ning was ideally spent in this very pleasant atsmophere. Little Catherine Burnett and Evelyn Marshall helped Andrea serve her guests barbecued chick en and ribs, potato salad and cold drinks. Buniett as host. The faculty as sembled in a classroom until the appointed hour, which was wel comed by all. Upon request of the principal, they were ushered into the cafeteHa at 8:3Q o’clock, where the ladies were presented corsages of red roses and fern, the men white carna tions. The tables looked very pretty with its linen cloth and center piece of red roses, snap dragons, baby’s breath and fern. The menu consisted of grape fruit cocktail, quartered fried chicken, gardbn peas, mashed potatoes, gavy, pineapple salad, hot rolls, iced tea, ice cream and cake, mints and nuts. After the devotions a brief business meet ing was held at which time it was decided to give the play “Glory Bound” for the benefit of the Church Building Fund.
