The basketball coaches of the CIAA formed an Associa
tion during the tournament and elected as th^ir first presi
dent Floyd Brown of NCC. The Association can do much good
for basketball in the CIAA. One of its first Efforts should
be to right the questionable proceedure of stopping the 18
teams oi the league to pick one team to send to the NAIA.’
Until our teams can enter the other national tournaments
the schools should not be denied the right to play another
two weeks of basketball.
The Warlick in the Xavier (La.) linkup against the
“Eagles” in the NAIA first round play-offs is' the brother of
Ernest "Hands” Warlick of North Carolina College fame . . .
The spectator decorum at this 9th CIAA tournament w^as ex
cellent. There were fans from Brooklyn, New York to Nash-
ville,^Tenn. and from Charleston, W. Virginia to Charleston,
South Carolina gathered here. For making this tournament
such a great success, hats off to you, you and especially you.
