The home was beautifully deco rated with a variety of roses in different arrangements. The meeting was opened with group singing. The president Mrs. Alice Jones presented the devo- iional messngCi after whirh the prayer of the order was recited in unison. Reports were given by the diSferfent officers, then a general discussion of a tea to be given in the near future by the club took place. Plans for the tea were completed and invitations will be sent out later. After the business session, refreshments were served by the hostess as sisted by Mrs. O. T. Brown. Mri. The Azelea Garden Club met Monday' evening, April 26 with Mrs. Effie Cotton at her home :n Carroll Street. The club \ iewed her beautiful flower w arden of roses, iris, thrift, pan ics, tulips and other flowers. The garden gate was opened by Mrs. Minnie Forte. A short ijusiness session was held, pre sided over by the president, .virs. E. Cotton, followed by a jijcussion of the garden tour vade on Easter Sunday. Only three . gardens were ','isited and all were beauti- lul. First was that of Mrs. Wal- ons, of Duke University, an jnusual garden, all wild flowers jut very pretty, then Mrs, D. St. Pierre Du Bose near Chapel iill and John Sprunt Hill, J. Duke Street. The pictures of these gardens ■ were then, hrown on a screen by a slide projector which was a beauti- ul sight to behold. A lovely dinner^ was served ->y the hostess.
