Jones, former president of Bennett College, will be held at 4 p.m. in Pfeiffer Chapel here Sunday, January 13, with Dr. Henry Hitt Crane ot Detroit as the speaker. Dr, Jones, who became presi' dent of Bennett in 1026 when the institution was reorganized as a woman’s college, died on January 24, 1956. At his re quest, he had been retired be cause of illness the- previous October. Dr. Crane, long-time trustee of the collegc, iias been the pas tor of the Central Methodist Church in Detroit since 1938. A former YWCA secretary, he is a graduate of Wraleyan (Conn.) Smith Hospitalized In Auto Accident llie Rev. H. Albert Smith, pastor of churches in Person and Wake Counties, was injured in an automobile accident Sun day morning, Jan. 6, while en- route to a service at one of his churches. He was treated at Lincoln hospital last week where at that time hospital authorities de scribed his condition as good. The accident took place about ten thirty .xiear Bahama. Rev. Smith’s automobile was 'stcuck on the left side by a car which plunged out onto the highway from a side road. Rev. Smith completed hisi trip to the church where he con ducted the morning wonhip services. However, he entered Lincoln hospital the same af-| temoon for a check and was admitted to the hospital.
