tolonial Stores '51 Sales To Set Hew Standard ATLANTA, GEORGIA Colonial Stores Incorporated, one of the nation's 10 top super- . market chains, will set new sale* and earnings records in 1957, ac cording to Joseph Seitz, Colonial president. ^ In a year-end statement, Seitz said tliat sales lor the year will total about $4440 million, an in^ crease of 4 per cent over 1956, and earnings will amount to more than |6 million, up 7 per cent over last year. Seitz also r^orted tliat Co lonial plans in 1958 to open ap proximately 40 new supermar kets and enlarge and modernize 13 existing units in its 11-state operating territory in the South and Midwest. Of the new stores, about 10 will exceed 20,000 sq. feet in size. Corbin of Washington, D. C., who will serve as Instructor in Music. She holds the B.S.M. degree from; Howard Univenity and bu don« advanced woric in Music having studied at Boston University and at the Union Theological Semi nary in New York City. Edith Godwin LaBeach haa been added to the Area of Art. She comes from Baltimore and holds the B.S. degree in Art Education and haa done advan- cfed work in Art both at Ameri-> can Univeraity, and at John Hopkins University. Moving in to take charge of the work in Physical Education and to serve as Head Coach of the Athletic teams is William A. Honoring two of its oldest members, Mr. James Bailey, and mother Fannie McQuaige, and memoralized the deceased mem bers. A beautiful plaque was dedicated to the class by Mrs. Jessie Moore on wliich was in scribed the names of the present officers and members. A turkey dinner was served. Music was furnished for the occasion by Mrs. Sylvia Merrick and Miss. Sylvia Bailey. Guest classes re presented were. The Walker Bible Class of First Calvary Church, The Gleaners Class of St. Mark AME Zion Church, The Floral Club of Ebenezer Baptist Church and The-One-More-Ef- fort Class of St. Joseph AME Church.
