Plans Party For
Valentine's Day
The Stork Club laid plans at
its regular meeting last week
for a Valentine party to be given
for children of club members on
Feb. 13. The meeting was held
on Jan. 9 at the home of Mrs.
Ruth Choates, at 916 Scout
Drive.
Also at the meetingrn^w offi
cers for the year were selected.

mas Cheer Fund, a charity or
ganization which gives assis
tance to the needy of the com
munity diuring the holiday sea
son, issued public thanb for
support of the organization’s
aimual project this week.
The Christmas Cheer Fund
distributed food, clothing, holi
day candles and toys to some 404
families, including 1,450 child->
ren during the past holiday sea-,
son.

The Jack and Jill Day Nur
sery located on Merritt Mill
Road opened recently in Chapel
Hill. The nursery will provide
day care for children of working
mothers, and will be open dallj^
from 7:00 A.M. imtil 6:00
on a year arouffd basis. A sche
dule of activities will be pro
vided for the various age groups
in attendance.
On last Saturday a party was
given for the children. Games
were played, after which the di
rector, Mrs. W. S. Crews, told
the story of the Three Little Pigs
and Red Riding Hood. A flannel
board and felt cutout pictures ini
bright colors were used to dis
play the characters in each story.-
