Funeral Rites
Held For Mrs.
Mary Hopson
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary
C. Hopson of. 107 E. Hillside Ave
nue of Durhahi were scheduled for

Mrs. Hopson died at her home
early Monday morning, Jan. 19.'|
She had been in declining health
for two years but was confined only ,
two weeks ago. 1
Mrs. Hopson was born on March
14, 1888, daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Levi Clark. She was mar- ■
ried to the late Dick Hopson, who
died in 1939. ' I
She was a faithful member of
the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church
where she served as a member of
the Fellowship Bible Class and
the Naomi Missionary -Circle. She
was also a member of the Hillside
community club. \ ^
Mrs. Hopson’s survivors include ', /
two sons: Joseph of Durham- and
Wilbert of Fayetteville! two step- *"
sons: Fred and Raymond of Dur-

were served a delicious turkey din-

Mrs. Hfie Cotton was the gracious
hostess to the Dorcas Club at her
home on Carroll Street. Although
the night was a wintry one a large
number was present.

presided in the absence of presi
dent, Mrs. E. R. Merrick.
The guest speaker was St. Jo
seph’s miinster, the Rev. M. C.
Swann. His subject was “Dorcas.
