lumbus County, N. C. and received
his basic education in the public
schools of that area. He earned
the degree bachelor of science at
Florida A&M University. North
Carolina College at Durham he
earned the degree Master of
Science, and received the degree
Doctor of Chiropractic at Nation
al College of Chiropractic, Chica

Prior to completing his formal
education. Dr. Brown served ap
proximately four years in the
United States Army Medical Corps!
as a Medical Laboratory Techni
cian during World War U. He has
taught in several of the schools]
of this state. His last teaching
position was at Williston High
School and Junior College, Wil
mington, N. C. at which he served
us professor of Science and
Mathematics.
Dr. Brown is married to the
former Miss Claronell Keturah
Troop of Gainesvilles, Florida.
They are the proud parents of five
'hildren. The family worships to-
'ether at St Joseph A. M. E.

For 10-Year-old
Miss Gurley McNeill,, age 12 of
Elizabeth Street, died at a
local hospital Monday, July 20.
She was born and reared in
Durham, the daughter of Rufus
and Henrietta McNeill. She at
tended the East End School, and
