NCC womien’s personnel staff in
1950. She is a native o( Ark&asas,
served as public school teacher
in Oklahoma sehools for several
years before joining the women’s
personi^l staff at Howard Uni
versity in 1945. She was trained
at Shorter College, Agricultural
and Normal University in Oklaho
ma, Northwestern University, and
Ohio State ^Jnivw^sity.
Miss Shepard, one of two daugh
ters of the late Dr. 3ames Shepard,
NCC’s founder and first president,
She has been affiliated in official
and unpificiai capacities with NCC
for many years.
Mrs. Harris, a native of Peters
burg Va,, joined the NCC staff
in 1926 and served as a houge ji-
rectres* until 1931, She received
her B. A. degree from Virginia
State College and later earned her
M, A. at Columbia University. She
has done additional graduate work
at the University of Chicago. ■
