G.I. insurance dividends to those

changed or converted their “RS''
insurance policies by the deadline
date of September 13, 1963, the
Veterans Administration reported
today.
“RS” was the identiiyini desig
nation given to the term insurance
issued during the Korean Conflict
Under provisions of a bill sign
cd into law by the President on
September 13, 1961, Korean Con
flict veterans were given an op
portunity for t#o years from that
date of obtaining a special divi
dend by exchanging “RS” term
policies to a Tower cost term poli
cy or converting them to a perm
anent plan of insurance.
More than 570,000 veterans col
lected their dividends before the
expiration date of September 13
1963, ended further payments.
VA officials estimate that ap
proximately 68,000 veterans still
hold “RS” policies. Although they
may no longer obtain a dividend,
they may still exchange their “RS’
policies for “W” term policies that
cost one-third as much or conver'
them to any one of six choice* ol
permanent plan inturance: ordi
nary life, twenty payment life

endowment, endowment at age 80
and endowment at age 65.
