Two days later, the Andrews had an injunction served on the evicted strikers who were pick eting the plantation. The injun ction stated that on more than four men at a time could pick et; that they had to use small er picket signs; and it gave the Andrews the legal right to hrow the picketers' possessions off the land. The strikers lived in shacks on the plantation, and worked for an average pay of $3.00 a day. Now they are planning to put up a tent city to house their families. ONSLOW COUNTY CORE CHAPTER FORMED IN MAY The Cogress of Racial Equali ty has recently formed a nfew Chapter. It's name is the On slow County Chapter'-of COR®. Core was organized on a nation al scale in 1942 in Chicago, 111. designed to remove discrimina tion based on skin color. The organization is an interracial group seeking racial equality based on the American dream "Liberty and Justice for All" It works through non-violent direct action. The new chapter is working in the following areas: housing, employment, education, com munity relations, Federal Pro grams and Anti-poverty.
