Whitford, garden therapy chairman, announced that bulb* and plants had been Uktn to the Salvation Army Home and a Christmas tree would be provided for the chil dren's ward at Lincoln Hospi tal. Mrs. W. A. Tyree spoke to the group on "Festive Tables Holidays." She said that since Christmas and home are so cloaely related, all parts of the home may be decorated but should harmonize in color and effect with the general decor of the home. • • • DEBUTANTE BALL SOON TO TAKE PLACE This will be a big holiday season for debutantes with the ball on Friday night, Decem ber 31 and parties throughout the Christmas season. Bolden Miss Carolyn Virginia Ford of Spencer became the bride of George Whitley Bolden Satur day, November 27, at 3 p.m. at Hood Theological Seminary Chapel at Livingstone College. The Rev. Walter L. Yates officiated at the ceremony and music was presented by Mrs. Ida S. Franks, pianist, and Miss Henrietta Johnson, soloist. The bride wore a white gown of peau de sole, with scalloped neckline, long sleeves and me dium length train with alen con lace around neckline and in front of the gown. She car ried a lace covered Bible with a white orchid. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Carolyn Perry of Spen cer, and Samuel L. Ford of Philadelphia, Pa. The bride groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Whitley Bolden of Dur ham. The bride was given in mar riage by her father, Mrs. The resa F. Milton of Spencer, sis ter of the bride, was matron of honor. George Manning of Durham was the groom's best man. Ushers were Willie Perry, bro ther of the bride; Emmett Pratt, Calvin Hedgepeth, Claude Greene, and Samuel Jordan, all of Durham.
