Freshman Lee Davis, 6-7 scored 20 points and led the team with nine rebounds. Joseph Pridgen scored 12, and Albert Connor sank 10. The Rams got off to a slow start. The Eagles had taken a 11-3 lead before the Rama caught fire after the game had been under way eight minutea. Monroe started the rally with an outside jump shot and Reid tied the score at IHB at the 11:50 mark. By halftime Winston-Salem State led 57-36. The cloaeat NCC got to the Rams early in the second half was 16 polnta. Coach C. E. (Blghouaa) Gaines took out all of his regu lars except Monroe with thraa minutes remaining after the Rams had moved ahead 102-83.
