Church pastored by Rev. Chas. R. White, will observe its an nual Women's Day Program, Sunday, May 15, at 11 a.m. Dr. Rose Butler Browne, re tired chairman, Department of Education, North Carolina Col lege and currently, director, Happy Hours Child Care Cen ter, Mount Vernon Baptist Church, will be the principal speaker for the Woman's Day Service. The speaker, a native of Bos ton, Massachusetts, is a grad uate of the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Browne received her Master of Arts Degree from 4^> - JM^^B^^k. MRS. FOSTIR St. Mark Honors Mother ol Year Mother's Day services Sun day, May 8, at St. Mark AME Zion Church were dedicated to Mrs. Mamie Foster, the church's mother of the year. The speaker for the morning service, Mrs. Myrtle McNeill, used the subject, "The Journey of a Mother." Mrs. McNeill is a member of St. Mark and li brarian of Fayetteville Street School. This widely recognized speak er is a member of numinous religious, teacher and learned organizations and an illustra tive member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Dr. Browne is married to Reverend E. T. Browne, pastor of two daughters. Mrs. Foster was presented a plaque on behalf of the church by Mrs. Gertrude Long. A na tive of Durham and a longtime member of the church, Mrs. Foster is the mother of Mrs. Christine Adams and has one grandchild and one great-grand child. North Carolina Celebrate 44th Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Frank Reddick celebrated their 43rd Wedding Anniversary recently, at their home, 102 West Hill side Ave., 10 a.m. to 3 pm. The living room and the din ing area were decorated - .vith pink and white. Mrs. Reddick used white drapes with pink satin valances. The dining room table was draped with a pink skirt and a short white linen cloth on top. The center piece | was a three tier white cake "with pink roses. Mrs. Reddick wore a white brocade dress with pink ac cessories. Mr. Reddick wore a navy blue suit with white at tires. Mrs. Reddick's sister, Mrs. Viola Fikes, served as recep tionist and Miss Erdine Fogg was refreshment hostess. Rev. L. A. Miller gave greet ings and repeated the second vows. A large number of relatives and friends in the city attended the gala affair. Out-of-town guests were: Mrs. Hettie Tay lor and Mrs. Lizzie R.
