The graduates include a num ber from Durham as well as from throughout the state and out of the state. The categories of the diplomas to be awarded to associate of ap plied science candidates are as follows: business administration, nine: denial laboratory technol ogy, 13; electronics engineering Mrs. Sombeek Entertains With Picnic Mrs. Ludmila Van Sombeek, 1903 Essex Road, had a gather ing of friends from Duke, N. C, College and Durham at an enjoyable lawn picnic at her home. Among the guests were visitors from the far East and Czechoslovakia. There were games for grownups and chil dren. While eating together, idea* and experiences were shared and hope was expressed for a better future not only for this country but for the -whole world. G. Hardin, who also has traveled extensively, read a fine paper on the topic "Can Human Nature Change?" It stimulated our thinking and aroused our feelings with sym pathy for suffering humanity due to neglect and misdirected efforts. It was mentiond that the sound baoia for creative de velopment lies first of all with the individual human being. The following passages from Baha'i literature were quoted: "The essence of faith is few ness of -words and abundance of deeds; he whose words ex ceed his deeds, know verily his death is better than his life." MOORE HOSTESS TO BIBLE CLASS The Mount Level Missionary Bible Class held its meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs Hosea Moore, 801 Piper Street, May 18. After the devotions, the president, Mrs. Roumania Lips comb, presided. Material for pajamas have been purchased for patients at Gravely Hospital; also sheets were brought for the benefit of bed ridden patients. A delicious repast was served to the following members: Mes dames Sabra Turrentine, Mo zelle Pettiford, Lizzie Timber lake, Maggie Tilley, Mildred Neal, Emma Johnson, Rosa Johnson, Melenda Harris, Mary Tate, Lesley Clay, Umstead and Syminer Daye.
